I have to begin this first blog with a prayer. "Lord God Almighty, please forgive me for saying I will never blog." I must confess it was not my idea to pursue this form of communication. I am not electronically challenged or computer illiterate, I simply prefer to speak on a personal level. I do however concede to the era, and agree with my conferees that the people I most desire to reach are in fact closer to me in this format than they might ever be in my comfort zone.
My beautiful wife is most responsible for encouraging me to blog. If this endeavor is indeed successful I will credit her for having the insight to plant the seed. This introductory blog is not what I will consider the first. The first blog will shed some light on "Mantle Maker's Beam." After an explanation of the name the following subjects we cover will continue to reveal the purpose of the Mantle, the Maker, and the Beam.
I hope we are launching a vessel that will carry us on an enjoyable journey.

- Pastor Daniel Gilbert
- Born in Morgan Texas, the fourth child of Pastor James and Ruth Gilbert. Graduated from Binghamton Central High School, Binghamton, N.Y. in January 1972. Went into ministry while in high school and preached first revival in West Milton, Pennsylvania two weeks after graduation. After forty years of living in the south, and the northwest, I returned to my roots Killeen Texas in 2008. I have been married to Lisa for twenty years. She is truly my covenant bride, and in fact we are one flesh. I enjoy life best when it is simple. Biscuits are better when they are made from scratch. The best way for me to spend a holiday is horseback forty miles from a paved road. Lisa and I have done exactly that and celebrated America's birth by riding over the continental divide on July forth. I am a wilderness dweller and a pursuer of the deep things of God. My greatest treasure is knowing the mystery of the power of early morning prayer. Laughter has always been my best medicine, and only making others smile makes me feel better.
